A sting at Clyde’s-Tower Oaks Lodge in Rockville last week resulted in a number of charges for underage drinking and possession of fake IDs.According to Montgomery County Police officials, seven juveniles were cited for possession of fake IDs and five for possession of alcohol.
An additional five underage drinkers were arrested for DUI with BACs ranging from .09 to .22. The success of this sting will doubtless lead to
additional efforts to curb underage drinking and DUIs in Montgomery County in the coming weeks.
While the undercover sting at Clyde’s-Tower Oaks Lodge was somewhat unusual, Labor Day traditionally sees an increase in sting operations such as checkpoints. And along with checkpoints come an increase in DUI charges.
Remember, in the state of Maryland, you have a right to avoid checkpoints or to turn around without submitting to tests.
However, these actions may still result in charges. If you are charged with DUI this upcoming Labor Day weekend, you will need an experienced attorney on your side as soon as possible.
Rockville DUI attorney Leon Geller has over two decades of experience helping people beat or reduce DUI charges.
